Happy Thanksgiving

Yes it is a day early, happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night.

When Jon the Intergalactic Gladiator was but a young lad, so young and full of life, he wrote a poem about Thanksgiving:

Thanksgiving is the time of year
When all the turkeys disappear
But still, it makes me shrill
to see blood red
So I'm having Kentucky Fried Chicken instead

An exceptional ballad don't you think? Feel free to snap your fingers if you are so inclined. I did win something for it, I don't remember what, though. Maybe a book about turkeys or something.

I shot a turkey once, what a mess.

Do not go hunting with an M41A Pulse Rifle.

Save the turkehs!

I think you missed your true calling, Jon. Your lyric stanza resonates with the same glimpse into the human condition as any of the master works of Dickinson or Yeats. Huzzah!

Not too different from my poem:

Thanksgiving is the time of year
when dad gets liquored up with beer
and mom makes a feast-day bash
and burns the turkey to a crispy ash
The uncle comes by
just to puke in the pie
and my cousins all steal my games
we watch football
till our eyes turn small
as my dad strips down to his Haynes
It's a festive delight
from morning till night
as we stuff ourselves till were sick
but never let it be said
that I'm ready for bed
till I’ve had my NestlĂ©’s Quick
